Conch fritters

We will be staying in Holetown. Where can we buy conch fritters either in Holetown or elsewhere?

Thanks

i can't say that i have ever seen conch fritters in barbados although you may be able to get them in an upscale restaurant. the local comparison is fish cakes which you will find everywhere...be sure to check them out at a rum shop if you see them on the menu.

cheers, rootsie!

Yeah conch can be rare here as they are only allowed to be fished very occassionally due to over fishing I guess...

You get conch more in Grenada, St. lucia and St. Vincent & the Grenadines. It is usually put in the papers when a conch fishing ban is lifted and haven't heard about it so unlikely I'd say.

Try Lobster Alive on Bay Street Bridgetown ( next to the Boat Yard) If anyone can do them they can. My favourite dish there, apart from ther Lobster is Conch chowder , yummy yummy!

You could always ring Art (the owner of Lobster Alive ) and ask the question. He brings all his lobsters over from the Grenadines in his own plane, so he possibly brings conch from there too . Good luck, and go there anyway, it's brilliant.

Aah here you are------------Why didn't I do this before??? there are some conch dishes, so I'm sure he would do the fritters you request with some notice before hand if what he already does doesn't suit you.

I havent really seen conch in Barbados. Defo seen it in St Lucia - it was the longest line at Friday night jump up.

Everytime I think of conch, I get that song in my head that was around for carnival a few years back lol
