Wedding 2010-2011 - Brides Welcome

Hello

There was a great forum here for brides who were getting married in 2009 to share their ideas, theirs contacts, their advises etc...

I am getting married in 2011 in Barbados and would love to hear about other brides (and grooms). Maybe we can share ideas for our perfect day!

I am traveling to Barbados next week to get an idea of what is possible (we have a smallish budget and have around 40 guests) and also to get a little bit of sun...

Hope there are other brides out there who want to share some ideas

Hi!

Im getting married at the Turtle Beach Resort on 7/14/10. We have about 50 people who will be making the trip with us. We've booked our photographer, Stuart Tippleston, with great recommendations from people on this site, as well as our wedding coordinator. We have most of the ceremony stuff set, but are still working out a lot of the details for the reception. One question that I've posted before, but haven't gotten any responses back was for recommendations for a DJ. Our coordinator was also going to get a list of some names, but we haven't gotten it yet. Any suggestions are welcome!

Thanks for starting this thread!

Hi!

Thanks for starting this thread!

We are hoping to tie the knot in Bouganvillea Resort in Barbados next May, can't book yet as prices aren't available until April this yr!

I'm going to be honest, I have no idea where to start..... Are you booking through a travel agant or getting your own flights and accom sorted then hiring a private wedding co-ordinator?

We would be taking 9 people with us Max so will be very small, not sure what would be best for after the cermony etc.

Would be great to hear about your trip you have planned to suss the place out! Enjoy!!

Hi MissV86 and Christina1986

Congrats on both your wedding. I am going there to check everything out. Missv86, i contacted a DJ who works at the local radio(love104.1) there and he was super nice and great at getting back to me. His email is smovedude@hotmail.com and see if it can work out for you.

I'm not sure exactly yet but we are thinking of having our wedding in a villa that we would rent for the week. I havent booked anything yet but I am in contact with a coordinator there who is also really nice (Alicia from Tropical Weddings) and another lady called Carolyn from BarbadosBarbados.com (who is just the best person). She helps me to look for villas, car rentals, hotels, excursions etc...not just for me but also for my guests. Basically she takes care of everyone on our behalf...I can only recommend her highly. She is absolutely amazing

Otherwise I have appointments booked with florist, caterers, photographers, make up artists, cake etc.... will be a busy week.

Let me know if you need any contact details or anything else....

Hi, we are getting married in Barbados May 2011 we are going to book the Almond Beach Village there are only 4 of us going.

I am finding not many tour operators are offering much for 2011 yet, but the two I have found are really helpful I am just waiting to here there latest quotes as I never except the first one !

But if anyone has got any to recommend I would love to know about them.

Hi, We have used Tropical Sky a lady called Sue Ellen who is one of the wedding team sorted it all out for us.

We have booked and even have our flight times for May 2011 !

I was quoted from other operators but found these to have the best prices for the same package.

Hope this helps.

For anyone who has gotten married or will be getting married at the Turtle Beach Resort....can you give a recommendation on which location within the resort would be best to host a reception for approx 50 people with a DJ? Thanks!
