A tribute to the people of Barbados

In November 2008 I went to Barbados on holiday. Whilst I was there I was making a short video for a young English boy who was very ill with leukaemia.

I asked the people I met if they would send him get well wishes to cheer him up. They were brilliant and everyone made their own unique contribution. I made the video showing both them and shots of the island in the hope that he might be able to visit some day.

He really loved the film and was touched by the kindness of total strangers wished him well. It really made him smile!

Sadly, he died at the beginning of this month. I have put the video on YouTube as a tribute to those people who gave their time to make a contribution. I hope that they will see it.

What a sad story and a wonderful gesture by yourself and the people who helped make the video.

That is a fantastic tribute to a brave young man. I have just returned from a Bajan function in England, and everyone was moved by the tribute.

Many thanks to everyone that has looked at the video on YouTube.

It has had nearly 200 hits since it went on the site on Sunday!

Hopefully, those who contributed will get to see it too.

I especially need to thank:

all of the staff at, what was, Escape Hotel & Spa

the officers at Holetown police station,

Island Safari

the staff at Little Switzerland, DaCosta Mall

and finally, two Russian honeymooners from the UK!

That was so kind of you Rowz to make the video and it is so sad that there wasn't a happy ending. I enjoyed watching it but with sadness too knowing the outcome. It was lovely of the people to take time to wish Edward well.

How very sad to hear the little Lad did not recover. Just watched your video.....

It shows the good nature of the Bajan people.

Glad to hear that Edward got some pleasure from looking at it .

RIP young Man.
