If you want the mid to higher priced restaurants (with fabulous settings, and fantastic food), you can probably plan to pay about $60 - $80 US per person at night (with drinks), and at lunch time at those restaurants it will probably run you about $40 US each. These restaurants would include Champers, Wispers on the Bay, The Tides, Mullins

For the more moderately priced restaurants like Pisces, Bellinis, Harlequin (in the Gap), it will probably run about $40 - $50 US per person at night and about $30 each at lunchtime.

There are also lunch carts that are around the island and you can eat great for $10 US each. Also there is take-away from the Supercentres (5 of them around the island) -- delicious & about $10 as well.

Then there are the local spots like Fisherman's Pub that will be much less costly for lunch or dinner.

The Oistin's Fish Fry (available every night, although on Fridays and Saturdays there is music as well), it will run you about $10 US for some great fried foods - fish, chicken, etc.

The west coast has calmer waters, and many of the higher class restaurants.

The south coast you will find lots of moderate wave activity.

Check out my tips at: www.barbadostips.com for great island information.

The cost of eating out depends greatly on what you like or would like to do and it ranges from inexpensive to very expensive, basically the same as anywhere else.

This subject has been greatly discussed and if you put "cost of food", "inexpensive restautants" in the search box you will find pages of information.

For groceries go to www.supercentre.com all prices quoted in Barbados dollars so you then do the conversion to your currency. However food is typically more expensive as it's imported.

Both south and west coasts have similarities and differences. The west coast is reputed to be the more expensive side of the island in terms of property etc. However both have excellent restaurants, easy transportation and great beaches.
