Recommendations for an all inclusive resorts in Barbados

Can anyone recommend a really nice all inclusive resort for a 10 day break in January next year? We have not been to Barbados before and are not looking to pay top of the range five star prices but will be prepared to pay for a decent resort.

My boyfriend and I are are looking for someplace nice to chill out including nice beaches, good sports facilities, spa and a nearby decent golf course.

Also which are the better parts of the island to stay in terms of being able to get around and see the island? Do you have to hire a car or are there other options when you are out there?

The two reasonably priced golf courses are both on the south coast,

There is of course the Sandy Lane course with it's out of this world green fees.

Most hotels are on the West or South coasts. Barbados is only 21 miles long x 16 miles wide, so nothing is very far. You can get around the west & south coasts with the local bus but if you'd like to go farther afield, renting a car would be the best way to go.

barbados is not known for it's all-inclusive resorts, or huge resorts for that matter, of any type. All inclusive - try the Almond Group of hotels or Elegant hotels Group.. of if not, explore the hotels section on this site and narrow down your choices based on the ones you like and go from there.

ive stayed at Almond Casuariana on the south and that is a decent All inc.

But i would go self cetering or room only, there is loads of decent bars and restaurants, accross a range of budgets, dunno bout you but i personally find eating and drinking at same place day in day out boring!!!!

The Almond resorts are to big for my liking........my vote would also go to Mango bay, great food, great location.

Virgin Holidays often do good deals to the Waves Hotel as it is exclusive to Virgin if u feel MB is to expensive,it's a Spa hotel, loction isn't as good as MB but there is bus stop outside the hotel,it's easy and fun to get around http://wavesbarbados.com/
