Parking around Barbados

We are going to Barbados at the end of June for 2 weeks, thinking about staying at Royal Westmoreland or at Mullins Bay. Will be renting a car for most of the time and wanted to know what the parking situation is like at the beaches (not just Mullins) and in Bridgetown. Are there charges for parking at any beaches or in Bridgetown...any recommendations where to park would be great. We plan on travelling over the whole island, hoping to find something to interest our teenage sons. Thanks for any help you can give.

parking in public lots, meaning you pay, you are charge 1.00bbd per hour, or part thereof. mostly this is in Bridgetown and not usually outside . parking at beaches is hit and miss and really depends on the beach. There are more areas on the south coast with beach and open spaces to park. West coast is over populated with hotels, villas, restaurants etc on both sides of the road, but you might be able to find spots along the main road, if it's wide enough, or in lots across from the beach or down side roads. The east , around Bathsheba, Cattlewash and those types of areas, parking is a bit better, but no "lots' really, just "side of the road gravel spots. of course tourist attractions, other than the beach, have parking lots, so that isn't a problem (except maybe the top of Cherry Tree Hill and Morgan Lewis Mill and a few other spots...)

have a great time.
