Solo Traveler going to Barbados!!

Hi, everyone. I'm a 27 year old male from Massachusetts and I'm traveling to Barbados from July 13-July21. I'll be going alone because my buddy backed out of the trip. From what I read it seems to be pretty easy to meet people. Is this true?

I'll be staying at the Accra Beach Hotel. Does anyone know if it's nice or easy to meet other solo travelers? If anyone is traveling there around the same time I'd love to meet up for drinks. I'm very easy-going and laid back. Don't be shy!

God bless,

Stefan

Yes once you are friendly you shouldn't have any problems. You are a stones throw away from several hanging out spots at Accra and you have the Boardwalk right there - i would recommend the Tiki Bar (from about 3pm) and Mojo's (more nighttime really). You will find people on the whole pretty friendly so just go with the flow.

Scary is absolutely correct. We're all friendly people. Accra is a great location, you'll meet loads of people on the beach, at the places Scary suggested, and others such as Just Grillin, Chefette, Chilly Moos etc. You can even take a 5-10 min bus ride to the Lanterns Mall which is a pretty neat hang out as well and SUBWAY!

Over the years, lots have people have asked this question. If you put "solo traveller" or "travelling alone" into the search box above this forum you will find lots of advice and suggestions. As the others have said, Barbados is a friendly place and meeting people will not be difficult.

Stefan,

I am a solo traveller and have always found Barbados a friendly island. The south coast has lots of places to visit and socialise. I am staying on the west coast for a month which is quieter than the south coast but there are still friendly places to hang out.

If you love sailing, book to go on a catamaran trip and you'll have great fun.

I'm sure you'll have a fantastic holiday.

Peace and Positivity,

Tia

BAJANT

I'm not sure who you're referring to but I assume you meant me. I said "You can even take a 5-10 min bus ride to the Lanterns Mall".... bus ride, not a walk. This takes in consideration the constant bumper to bumper traffic on that part of Highway 7 at peak periods and on Saturday evenings. Not to mention the bus stopping at virtually every bus stop.

Either way, this was ages ago and is now pointless as the member said his holiday was July 13-July 21st... it's now the 23rd so he's long back home.

Regards
