Best lunches in Barbados?

We love lunch rather than dinner most days and enjoy Champers, Sassafras, Fish Pot, Spago, Zacchios and used to love Tides ( - and still will for dinner). We haven't been to Bathsheba for ages, for instance, and guess that everyone here must have favourites we haven't tried.

Please would you share your suggestions? We like almost every kind of food we have tried so far, so nothing should be off the table, if you will excuse such an obvious phrase!!

We will be trying a lunchtime cruise - and the suggestions on the forum look pretty good so far. We will be in Barbados in October if that skews any ideas.

Thanks for all and any help,

John

You'll need to check that the restaurants you want aren't closed in October - some do shut in Sept/Oct for refurb or their own holidays.

My favorite in Bathsheba area is Atlantis. We used to enjoy the Round House too but I have heard some mixed reports lately - lovely setting though.

Last time we ate at 39 Steps for the first time - really enjoyed it. Limited bistro style menu but very very well done and a good wine list. It's near The Amaryllis ju's south of B'town.

Atlantis Restaurant, Edgewater Restaurant, Fish Pot, Champers, are all very very good. 39 Steps is also quite good as well as Almatt pointed out.

I love the lunchtime cruise which is done on Cool Runnings Catamaran.

Just note some restaurants are closed for a period of time in September/October. So call ahead to make reservations.

Hope this helps.

Tapas, on the south coast, right on the boardwalk.

Another suggestion is the Brunch at Fisherpond Great House. Sundays only in low season I believe but worth checking it out.

Sticking with a Sunday lunchtime theme you could try Southern Palms - either the buffet or bar meal. Right on the beach with a steel band. Very informal but good fun.

Thanks everyone,

some of these are places we haven't heard of, but we will! Sunday brunch is always a nice idea, and checking in the low season sounds sensible. Cool Runnings gets great reviews, so I reckon that has to be on our list too. Now we are really looking forward to our trip.
