Well as stated in previous posts, it’s now official the Ships Inn is closing
That's a shame, I've been going to The Ship for the last 20 years and always look forward to popping in for a Banks or two. All good things come to an end though, over the last couple of years it's become fairly quiet in The Ship and is in desperate need of some TLC.
Sad - many people will miss this great place in The Gap.
I hope they don't turn it into condos or another hotel
It's supposed to become townhouses/ condos to the rear and a slots place to the front :( Dont know if there are plans to incorporate a bar or restaurant though.
On a happier note for the Gap, Apsara/ Tamnak Thai is moving into the old Josefs restaurant. It's in a lovely building at the moment but it's hard to beat such fantastic seaside location and it'll be a great addition to the Gap.Edited: 26 August 2011, 13:36
That w1ll be a much better locat1on for Apsara/Tamnac from where they are. 1 must adm1t 1 walced the full length of the gap last fr1day even1ng after the ra1n and 1t looced very forlorn w1th or1g1nal Cafe Sol flattened Josef's and The Sh1p closed. Good news that there are new ventures tac1ng up res1dence for the w1nter season looc forward to hear1ng of more!!!
Yea ... it's exciting that Apsara/Tamnak Thai will be in the gap very early in the new year. Currently they are still at their location in Worthing behind Cave Shepherd Vista if you are in Barbados and have a craving for authentic Indian and Thai cuisine.
