Barbados Resort

Where is the nicest place we can stay directly on the beach for under $600/night for a 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom with full kitchen and some resort services? We don't necessarily want to stay at a mega-resort (definitely not an all-inclusive) but also not looking for just a condo rental (with zero services). It seems like as I search resorts I either see beautiful full-service high-end resorts that are too expensive for us (over $1000/night) or places that look dated and quite shabby for more like $300/night.

Have a look at Oceans 2 great beach and a really well fitted out new condo/hotel with roof top bar. Not far from all the other restaurants and bars in the gap.

I would definitely take a look at Sapphire Beach Condo #203. This is a 3 bedroom, but I believe you can get a 2 bedroom rate for the unit. It sleeps 6. We stayed in this unit and it is simply beautiful, clean and right on the beach.

If you want to stay on the west coast right on the beach try Glitter Bay. 1, 2 and 3 bedroom apartments fully furnished and equipped, right on a beautiful beach, tennis courts, swimming pool, wading pool, concierge 8 am - 5 pm daily, bar and beach service, lunch snack bar, spacious grounds. Right along the beach you have great local beach bars like Ramshackles and JuJus and the higher end Lonestar. 5 minures to Holetown which has supermarket, shopping great restaurants and bars. Specialist at Glitter Bay rentals is www.barbadosvillaservices.com which manages 13 properties there.

I went and viewed St. Peter's Bay yesterday and the apartments and place are absolutely gorgeous. They are 3-bedroom but are $600 per night currently with a 20% discount - absolutely gorgeous and I would stay there in a heartbeat. www.stpetersbaybarbados.com

Thanks all for the recommendations. St Peter's Bay looks amazing. Unfortunately its $900/night during peak season which is when we are traveling. Sappphire Beach looks lovely as well but it seems as its a straight condo rental (no services) and we are looking for some resort-like services. Glitter Bay and Oceans 2 seem closest to what we are looking for. I found two websites for Oceans 2 and called the number listed on both getting different rates (one in our price range and one not) for the same apt category. So thats interesting. I am wondering how everyone else has been booking the apartments there. If you have any info on that please let me know.

Also it might be worth a look at both Bougainvillea (has all usual hotel facilities but is studios and apartment type accommodation) and Coral Sands (smaller than the Bougainvillea and with fewer facilities).
