Reaching out to the experts!

We had decided to stay in the Gap but our plans fell through. We are now 3 weeks from our trip without a place booked. Can anyone recommend an apt in the Holetown area? Would like ac throughout, doesn't have to be right on the beach but a short walk is fine. Not planning to rent a car and would like a place close enough to be on foot to the grocery store and some places to eat. We have not been able to find a reasonable place and everything that looks nice is pretty expensive. We like the apt or condos vs a hotel to be able to eat a few meals in and experience a neighborhood. Sorry for the same old question but I would be grateful if someone could point us to a nice place that they have seen. Budget would be 150 or so a night. Nothing fancy needed, just safe, clean and close in. Am I asking too much? Please friends, I really need some of your great advice.

This time of year you can get Sunswept Beach Hotel for $130 USD a night. It's right on the beach in Holetown, near to several restaurants and the Super Centre Supermarket. Even though the name says hotel, it's more like apartments.

Would've recommended Villas on the Beach, but that would be out of your budget.

Hope this helps

Have a look at this website Many places do not have A/C throughout as it is more usual to have in the the bedrooms only , plus ceiling fans throughout, but for instance Palm Beach condos have security gates which can be locked while the main doors can be left open in the day for a through air flow which keeps the interior cool

Good luck, I hope you find somewhere to your taste .

Take a look at this place, not directly on the beach but a few minutes walk from Paynes Bay which is a beautiful beach, about a 5 minute drive from Holetown, you can take a taxi cheaply or hop on the bus to go to restaurants and the supermarket. There are a few restaurants close by, such as Scarlets and Daphne's and there is also a gas station which sells staples such as milk.

Take a look at the above website for some reasonable accomdations. You may find more options in your price range around the south.

Thanks BGI. Sunswept is fully booked for our dates. Looks like others have need reading here as well. I'll check out the other places suggested. Sounds like the A/C is not realistic but it is not a deal breaker. We just don't spend much time in during the day and from what I have been told, power is very expensive on the island. Thanks everyone. I'll make sure to get a report out with whatever we find.

I would personally make sure you at least have A/C in the bedroom or I think you could be pretty uncomfortable at night. Good luck finding somewhere. I am sure you will be ok as it is before the kids break up.

I would recommend taking a look at Sundance & Sunbeams apartments in Paynes Bay. This is a large house split into two apartments which are very spacious, fully air conditioned and great value for money.

They are within 2 minutes walk of the beautiful Paynes Bay beach just across the road.

It's not in Holetown - about 15 minutes north by bus, but within walking distance (about 15 minutes along the beach) to Speightstown. There is a Texaco for basics and three restaurants just minutes from the door.

It's well under your budget, right on a lovely beach, fenced yard and in a safe area. Air Conditioning in the bedrooms too.

We've stayed a couple times and have always been very happy.

You're welcome. I'm so sorry to hear that, Sunswept is quite popular. I would suggest you look at Coral Lane Beach Apartments in Payne's Bay, up the road from Holetown. It will fit your budget, the beach is across the road and you can pay a supplement for a/c.
