Dining Advice!

We are first time visitors to Barbados and will be staying at Accra Beach Hotel on a Room Only basis.

It would be interesting to hear from anyone else who has stayed here and what their 'dining habits' were eg. eating in the hotel or any restaurants that are in the vicinity.

We do like a bit of variety!

Definitely go across the road. Just Grillin is very popular also some of the other restaurants in Quay Side are good. You will find lots of places in the area to eat and the Gap isn't to far either. During the day there is a van in the beach parking area that has good food. I Have never stayed at Accra but always in the area. You can eat as cheap or as expensive as you want.

Also closeby and on the boardwalk is Naru - small plates and fantastic sushi. The chef is excellent.

You should also check out the Ackee Tree for their tasty rotis in Worthing as well as Chefette's Barbeque Barn across the road from the hotel.

We have stayed at the Accra many times and rarely eat at the hotel as there is so much to choose from! Our list includes:-

Just Grillin - opposite hotel - lunch and evening meal (especially after the

Managers cocktail party when you don't want to walk too far!)

Chinese - Ideal to eat in (not the best looking place) or takeway - again in

complex opposite

Ackee Tree - Roti for lunch!

Cheffette - Again ideal for lunch or dinner

Side Shore beach bar - Ideal easy dinner - watch the sun go down and

enjoy happy hour!

Champers - A perfect night out and not to be missed - a short walk from the

hotel

Tapas - A short walk along the boardwalk - again not to be missed

Naru - Again, a short walk along the boardwalk

Oistens - We tend to get a taxi on a Friday night - again not to be missed!

Bridgetown - Lunchtime at The Waterfront cafe - great people watching!

West Coast restaurants - there are many to choose from but we always book a taxi - depening on how long you are there I am sure you can survive without making the journey - but if you do make it either Tides of Cin Cin!

I have written reviews for all of these places, but if you would like to know anything else please ask!

Roll on Boxing Day!!

As you see, you will have no problem to find food. All the suggestions are really good. I can add BBQ Barn (it is in Chefette Building). Have a look at the webiste of Chefette (including BBQ Barn) and you can check the menu. At BBQ Barn, they have a salad bar (a big salad for 8 $ US), you can takeaway and eat on the beach, Wonderful!!! More expensive but worth it, Champers, Tapas, Brown Sugar. Near your hotel, you have 2 food courts. Have a great time, Barbados is the BEST!!
