Cat Cruise or Beach

We will only be in Barbados one day as part of a cruise. We are debating doing a Catamaran cruise or just heading to Carlisle Bay on our own and beaching it. We will have our own snorkel gear so can bring that with us to the beach. We really want to snorkel at the wrecks. Can someone let me know how far it is to swim out? I'm just not sure the costs seem worth it for the Cat cruise. We are a group of four and if we do a cat are leaning towards Shasa for the smaller size. What are the advantages/disadvantages vs. going to the beach on our own?

IMO if you are average swimmers you can do all from the beach. The Cats will be there to show you where to swim to. Have fun!
