Sunday on a cruise

When a cruise ship is in port on a sunday....do the stores in Bridgetown open up????

Sometimes, not always. More often than not, Cave Shepherd would open for a few hours on Broad Street

When we were in Barbados in November 2013 we visited Bridetown on two Sundays - not a single store open, not even a Chefette!!! - and there were cruise ships in at the time - the passengers that we saw (and there was many) looked lost and bored out of their skulls

It has been the only island we have visited that the stores aren't open on a Sunday - very, very strange - Bridgetown was like a ghost town

Sadly, that's the way it is most Sundays. I do long to see the day when Barbados becomes a bustling little city throughout the weekend.
