Definitely can be done but that is peek season. During the last BA sale prices were as low as £1000 pp flights and b&b accommodation for 2 weeks but not sure what they are currently. That's not much more than the canary Islands!

February and March are in the high season so not the best time of the year for a budget holiday.

Do have a look at http://www.shoestringbarbados.com for ideas and then come back with specific questions. It would be helpful to know what your budget is and whether it includes flights as well as accommodation, food, excursions, etc. also what you are looking for out of this holiday.

Honestly, February/March isn't the time for a budget holiday here. September-November and April to June is the time for such. Nonetheless, both BA and Virgin are currently offering sales around £519 in economy which is very good. You'll need a cheaper place to stay such as All Seasons Europa for example.
