Does it scream tourist if we want to rent/drive a Moke?

We've heard about the Moke's, worth the experience? It will be just myself and my wife so we won't need a lot of room, and likely would just rent a car for one day

Not really there are plenty of them on the road - only thing is they don't offer any protection from the rain. All hire cars on the island registration plates start with H thats how we know your a tourist!!!

All hire vehicles have an H in the numberplate so makes no difference whether you rent a car or a moke.

Go for the moke - they're great fun.

So you're viewed as a tourist? That isn't a problem believe me, in fact it can even be helpful if you happen to be disoriented "aka as lost" or looking for something or need assistance in any way. Don't worry about it just hope it doesn't rain as you will get wet, as in very wet. Just enjoy your day.

I always go for a small air conditioned car - protection from the rain as others have said, but also safer in my opinion.

Does it matter if it screams tourists? You're from Taunton I think they'll figure it out anyhow. Truth be told Bajans don't care and if anything they'll cut you some slack when it looks like you're lost. Since it's only for a day I'd probably opt for something better than the moke. I had the Toyota Yaris recently from Stoute's and that was a pretty good car.

I would say hire a Suzuki Vitara they are good fun as you still have the open air with a hood if you need it, plus thay are higher off the ground & you will see more. We always hire one from Stoutes & they are very good

Only "tourists" rent the mokes once and most never do again. Reason for that is that there is no place to store anything or lock anything up while you are off sightseeing. Also, if it rains, you get quite wet.

A small car of some sort would probably work much better and you will have the benefit of air-conditioning too.

We had a 4-wheel drive this last visit -- it was fun.
