Dog Fouling on Dover Beach

I have just been watching Dover Beach from my balcony and have noticed a number of dogs walking the beach - some with owners and some without owners. A black labrador without an owner nearby has foulded the beach four times, one being a large poo!. The local lad who brings out the longers noticed the poo about ten minutes later and picked it up and buried it at a nearby wall.

With all the fuss going on about no smoking in public places why it is allowed for dogs to fould the beaches - something which offers a much greater public health issue than smoking??

It wouldn't be allowed in England so why allow it here - it will only put people off coming to Barbados.

Have you never noticed the number of dogs in Barbados? They're everywhere....well almost. Most are inside gated properties but there are many who run around free. At least the beach attendant cleaned up the mess.

I'm not sure having another law that probably won't be obeyed is necessarily the answer. However you never know. This post will probably spark a good discussion.

It can cause so many health issued, as mentioned. 'Sand Worms' will be a problem because of this. My friend had sand worms, but only noticed when she got home (worms that live under the skin). It took months for UK doctors to treat as they had to have a tropical disease specialist to diagnose it. (It would have cleared up a lot faster in Barbados as they are used to such cases).
