The price of a case of Polar was $24 for the 7 ounce bottles and $38 for the 12 ounce bottles... can't help with snorkeling.

Cheers

In addition to bsdme, mentioned above, there are free guides/maps available at the airport and rental car counters that show all the dive and snorkel sites, with their names. Bsdme will also tell you what is good about each site and what to look for. key thing is to learn to look for the yellow rocks along the coastal roads. These rocks will have the name of the dive/snorkel site painted onto the rock. Once you get used too identifying these rocks, it makes finding/navigating the sites very easy.

As for places to hang out... City Cafe is frequently busy and some of our friends liked to hang out at the Havana bar and cigar shop.

Cultimara has been replaced by Top Supermarket. They are open until at least 6pm, maybe later. Warehouse Grocery is open until 7pm and Van den Tweel Supermarket is open until 8pm. Sunshine Market is open until at least 8pm, possibly 9pm.

Many restaurants will also sell you beer to go if you are doing take away. It sounds as if you are planning to do take away from Bobbejan's so ask when you get there if you can't make it to one of the grocery stores.

I remember Amstel being in the $24 a case (7 or 8oz) range too when I was there in May. That was at the Van den Tweel. Coronas were about $10 higher for the same bottles.

Amstel, Heineken, Corona, and Polar were the only beer types I saw in the store (which was just fine for me).

We are also avid snorkelers. For snorkeling info check out tropicalsnorkeling.com. They have an e-book for sale that as very helpful on our last trip. We have found that on Bonaire the waves are typcially calmer in the more so we get up pretty early. And be aware that if you get hooked on Polar Beer it is not available in the states. We bring back a case every time we go to Bonaire. If you haven't done a night snorkel Renee runs a good one. If you're lucky you can also see some Bioluminescence on the snorkel.

We are also avid snorkelers and have been to Bonaire four times in the last four years. Check out tropicalsnorkeling.com for a handy e-book on Bonaire snorkeling sites. Renee (many good reviews here on TripAdvisor) runs a good night snorkel and you might see some bioluminescence during it. Her website also states she can arrange to have your lodgings stocked with food and drink should you desire. Be warned that if you get hooked on Polar Beer it is not available Stateside! We bring back a case every trip.

Polar isn't too bad in the bottles. It is nasty in the cans.

Also, the only draught beer I saw was Heineken in some of the downtown restaurants. I got used to Heineken and alternate it with Sierra Nevada all the time at home now.
