Of course it's always good to check TA closely before making any travel bookings, but I didn't, and I booked inter-ABC island flights with DAE. Then a vacation rental owner I contacted regarding a booking actually suggested to not book with DAE. Ooops, too late!!
I did heed a TA poster's advice, however, that there wouldn't be enough time to take a 6 a.m. flight from Curacao to Bonaire and expect to make my 8:30 a.m. flight to the U.S. I changed it ($30 penalty, not too bad, but still...) to the previous day in the afternoon - not at the crack of dawn, but not the last flight of the day either. DAE couldn't cancel two flights in a row, could they?? I had read a bunch of forum posts about Bonaire, and hadn't seen much anything about airlines flying among the islands. Maybe I didn't go back far enough, or should have just asked first, before I blithely went ahead and booked flights on DAE.
Their phone rep today must have been in la-la land. I said that I wanted to change flights for January 4, and she said it was already in the past. Well, duh, my flights are for 2014!
