Asking for Coffee in Cuba

I cant wait to get back and have a cup.....

Had some friends over last night and they will be taking their first trip this spring. Both avid coffee drinkers. They asked me about ordering it, meaning asking for a cup. Now, I remember my first trip, asking for coffee and they brought it to me black. I didnt know I had to ask for coffee "with milk". Then there is expresso, cappucino, all kinds of choices.

So, for the first-timers, how do YOU order your coffee......

If they want their coffee black, they should ask for 'Café negro'.

If they want a cappuccino - it's capuchino.

Definitely try a Cafe Cubano. It is espresso that is sweetened while being brewed. Somehow if comes out very different than jst adding sugar to espresso. Very creamy with a light brown foam on top.

How would I ask for a cappuccino with Bailey's, but I want the Bailey's and milk steamed at the same time, rather than the Bailey's added to the hot cappuccino. Yummy by the way. I make it this way all the time at home.

Wick; try this: “Mi amorcito, dame un café tan oscuro y fuerte como tus ojos” usually gets me what I want!
