Nope. I always put 25CUCs in my passport as soon as I arrive, that way I'm sure not to be caught short.

In a word NO. Must be paid in cash. CUC only. They do not make change. Like was said when you exchange your first money put away 25CUC/person with passports. That way you dont have to worry wether you have it or not.

Every airport usually have a "duty free" type of shop after you pass the custom, even though in Cuba, there is not really a duty free as there is no tax!!! You will have to pay in CUC or credit card, but sometimes, the machine don't work... Sometimes, they also accept canadian dollars.

Those last minute purchases you can pay for with your credit card (make sure it has no american affiliation whatsoever or it will not be accepted).
