Thanks for the link. The video is almost an hour long but very informative.
I wish I'd seen it BEFORE my trip. I would have fit in a couple of more museums during our free time.
Great link halfwaytree.. I am sure many will appreciate it..Edited: 27 November 2011, 20:23
We visited a lot of museums in September. Our favorites were:
The City Museum at Plaza d'Armas. A must!
The Museum of the Revolution is comprehensive and detailed and very intreresting. And contrary to some guidebooks, it does allow you to take photos.
There are two art museums. The one featuring Cuban art is especially well worth a visit. Start at the third floor and work down., The internayional art museum, in a nearby building, is good, but don't expect the Met or the Prado.
There's a superb decorative arts museum in Vedado. Women who work tere will take you into each of the exhibit rooms and explain many of the treaasures, but their English is limited. No photos allowed, unfortunately.
If you're into coins and paper money, as I am, there's a small but good Museo Numismatico on Obispo Street., Admission is free.
The Colon (Columbus) Cemetery is really an outdoor museum in its own right.
