Buying Monte Cristo cigars individually

I'd like for my daughter to pick up a couple of these as a ffriendship gift for a buddy of mine, and I want them to be genuine but I don't want to spend too much. Any ideas about if genuine ones can be bought indivudally, whjere and for how much?

She'll use my own time honored technique of getting somethinhg not quite kosher through customs without committing perjury by lying to a federal agent. Namely, declare some stuff that's legal (any printed matter, books, art work, etc. is legal to bring into the US from Cuba). Have the cigars hidden. If you're then asked, do you have anything else to declare, tell the truth. From all accounts, they may or may not take them away. If they do - well, I'm willing to take that chance.

I'm sure your daughter can pick up the cigars almost in any off the govt stores. As for price??? The rest of the question not going there.

I like your system. Two things I might do to prevent them from being confiscated. Take off the bands, and don't hide them.

What a great dad you are. Using your daughter to smuggle something illegal for you to bring into the country.

Hola

one problem with taking off the bands, in many cases you will damage the cigar wrapper, one reason I leave them on, and take them off when it's over half smoked...

cheers.

Hard to believe there's Canadians who take the US/Cuba embargo seriously.

++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

If the embargo was between Canada and Cuba, I would not put someone at risk just to get me a couple of cigars. And as long as the embargo is in place many many Canadians will continue to make big bucks selling Cuban cigars to Americans.

It is what it is.

"... Hard to believe there's Canadians who take the US/Cuba embargo seriously..."

========================================

Canadians who've been banned from entering the US because of their business interests in Cuba certainly take it very seriously...

Many Canadians who go to Cuba – are very eccentric people in terms of gullibility! That’s why Cubans love them so much.
