Horse & Buggy Ride to Coco Beach with dinner

Hola, I'm sure this question has been asked (and possibly by me haha)....do we need to negotiate a ride to coco beach or is it a sort of set price, what might that be? Do we need reservations at the restaurant for dinner? We did the tour one time. Our son is coming this time and we keep saying we're going to do it but don't haha. I'm not much of a negotiator in person :) so what might the trip cost us? Gracias,

Terry

It used to be 15 - 20 CUC there and back, not sure about the restaurant......we only went for the beach and to snorkel. And yes, you can negotiate the price. Obviously it will depend on how busy they are whether you will be successful in getting a discount.

It also depends how many are in the buggy. It can be priced as a blanket charge or per person.

If you negotiate a price for a home lobster dinner, you can often get the price with a buggy. It really depends on who you are dealing with....

The home diners are generally 10 CUC's per person. The home we frequent includes lobster, shrimp, rice, salad (cucumbers/tomatoes) and garlic butter. They even offered us extra lobster tails and extra shrimp. It was delicious.

We have eaten at a restaurant in Coco Beach 3 times but prefer the home dinners. If you go in the daytime and wander around La Boca.... you will be approached about an in home dinner and you can arrange it for a certain time for the amount of people you need seating for...there are 3 or 4 restaurants but only 1 is actively promoted by tour reps.

If you want to see the gorgeous sunset they will arrange you to be there in time to see it depending on the time of year. Ask the home owers what is the best time to see the sunset :-)

Good Luck !!!

Hi thanks..there would be 4 of us (3 adults/1 child). We wouldn't know who to talk to...usually just see the horse/carriages on the road across from the Brisas. Should we be asking for anyone in particular...anyone have a name of one of the gentleman? The restaurant we went to at Coco Beach is probably the one the tour operator uses...the meal was very good. We also did go to a Cuban home for a great meal (much like you described)...it was set up by Yuri...but he wasn't at the Brisas when we were there in August. so not sure if he's still there?

Thanks :)
