New Years at Caracol prices?

We are a group of 6 contemplating spending New Year's eve at Caracol in Santa Lucia - does anyone know approximately how much this would cost flying out of Montreal?

Have been going to this area 2-3 times a year for 27 years, not sure what major problems the previous poster is referring to. But in any case, it is dfficult to predict prices for New Years, we were there New Year 2010, and the deal we got was great, paid around 1700.00 all in for two of us, this last New Year it was about 2,000.00, but expect to pay about double than the price for off season, and you should be close. It is a quiet area, with only four hotels and not much night life, but a favourite of many people, as evidenced by the number of repeat guests. Hope this helps.

Nzyme,

Can you fill us in on the "problems" ? I've been twice and will be back very shortly. I've never seen any issue that could not be laughed about with a typical "Haha, es cuba" comment after. When i see posts about Santa Lu that are negative, well i know these people are either delusional or are jerks themselves. I see the type of people that post negative stuff here and on other travel sites and i see them in person and it's not tough to spot someone who is just a natural complainer. Please, if you can't tell me of these problems then you'll have outed yourself as a liar.

Thanks for the info SairOrman60 - this gives me a good idea on the cost. Hopefully it will go down and not up.

Why bring up problems if you do not want to say what they are?????

Every location/hotel has good points and problems......it's up to each individual to decide if they will affect them or not.

Open, honest posting is what is needed.

Just my 2 cents.
