cuba november dec

We are thinking of booking for varadero/havana 22nd Nov but I am being put off with the reviews. They keep mentioning horrendous mosquito presence but these are reviews for june july. Can anyone who has been there in november please tell us what to expect weather wise too and give us recommendations please.

Thanks a lot

It's quiet...not as hot as the summer and cool in the winter and I've never been biten by a mosquito in Cuba regardless of the month so I can't really help you out on that one! LOL

we were there the last week of November and the 1st week of December last year, didn't see one mosquito and the weather was fabulous.... one day of rain but it just served to cool things down a bit!

Hi Win,,,we went last year 2008 Nov 26 for a week. No mosquitoes, no bugs, weather +26 to +30.

it rained one time for 2 hrs then the sun came out.

Hurricane season has also ended. This is a great time to go we have found out. Going again this year 2009 Nov 26 to Dec 12.

For the weather in Varadero you can go to:

http://www.accuweather.com/world-forecast-15day.asp?partner=accuweather&myadc=0&traveler=0&zipcode=CAC|CU|CU011|VARADERO|&metric=1

to get a 15 day forecast, or:

weather.com/outlook/…

To get a 10 day forecast, or a second opinion (LOL), or go here:

http://weather.msn.com/local.aspx?wealocations=wc:CUXX0020&q=Varadero%2c+CUB

But remember that 'scattered thunderstorms' means just that, you may not see one all day, you may have a ten-minute one, you may have a heavy one for a while.

The closest city you can get averages for is Havana, 150 or so kilometers away, but for averages it should be OK. You can see them here:

weather.com/outlook/…

and you should be able to get the weather for anywhere in Cuba from the above sites.

Here is a website with general info on Cuba, (thanks to Mardi) which has averages for all months:

Well, we usually go in January, but we went once in November (2002) and once in December (2004). Both of those times, the weather seemed quite cool compared to most of our trips, but was still much better than it was at home.

According to the statistics, there is a slightly higher chance of rain than what there is later in the winter, and we did se a fair bit of rain both those times. Mostly it was brief showers, and then the sun came out and it was warm while the sun was shining.

Regards,

Jack
