Cuba

I live in the U.K. and my cousin lives in Canada. We want to go on holiday to Cuba together next April (2010). A package deal is proabably cheapest, but we can't book together as flying from different places and, therefore, can't share a room. Any advice? Book flights separately - with who? Accomodation direct with hotel - where? Thanks!!!

There is 2 options that I can think of...

1- The first one would be to book a hotel without a single supplement. In April, there are some hotel that charges the same price, weither you're alone in the room or if you're two. You can look at this site to see which ones:

This could be the less expensive option for both of you.

2- If you decide to book the plane and hotel separatly, than it's a lot cheaper to book the hotel from here rather than directly in Cuba. The best deals in Canada are with Sunwing:

You can book the hotel with them and the flight with who ever is cheaper.

Have to agree with Gengen; we had a couple join us in Cuba from Germany last year, so the single supplement wasn't an issue, but the all around "package" price for them to fly direct was a little over 1 1/2 times what we were paying; it worked out to be cheaper for them to fly into Toronto the night before, book a package Toronto round trip with Sunwing, and fly back to Germany. In the end they actually prefered the multi stop trip - it broke the travel time up for them a bit and they weren't so exhausted when we got to Cuba. Transatlantic flights are a bummer! Good luck!

It's sotrue Bankerbabie, this is a 3th option:

3- Come to Canada, and buy an all inclusinve package from here.

It might in some cases be cheaper than option 1 or 2.

Most UK tour operators charge a single supplement year round. Your best bet is to book a return flight to Canada and stay overnight, or a couple of nights, both before and after the Cuban holiday, with your cousin and let her book the holiday for two to Cuba from Canada.
