locally produced drinks

Hi

Could anyone expand on the above phrase used in brochure - Rum obviously anything else? What about wine?

You will get a range of spirits, including Vodka, gin and wines from Spain, Cuba and Chile

Some resorts have named brands as well, dependant on where you are staying.

thankyou - don't know where we are going yet - as we have booked Riu Varadero for November. No worries as long as there is sun.

Wine is usually spanish. Below 5* no comment. Beer is local draft - Cristal.

Don't look for russian vodka, as it is one of the most premium drinks nowadays in Cuba. Whisky is local or from Brasil. It's like a generic pharmacy: you have everything but not the known brands.

In 5 star resorts you can get the known brands. Iberostar and Paradisus have the best selection.

I really enjoy the Spanish Soof brand vodka. It's not Gray Goose, but it's good. The fact that it's $3 cuc/bottle makes it even better!

Are there branded drinks at Sandals - personally I am not adverse to a little vodka although I suppose when in Cuba it should be rum
