Alcoholic beverages

If you meet the age requirements set by the province or territory where you enter Canada, you can include one of the following:

– 1.5 litres of wine (53 imperial ounces); or

– 1.14 litres (40 ounces) of liquor; or

– 24 × 355 ml cans/bottles (8.5 litres) of beer or ale.

We classify coolers according to the type of alcohol they contain. For example, we consider beer coolers to be beer and wine coolers to be wine, and apply the quantity limits accordingly.

We do not classify beer or wine that contains 0.5% alcohol by volume or less as an alcoholic beverage. As a result, no quantity limit applies.

That happend to me too last year! And a Cuban kept saying we had a bottle of rhum to bring to the room. Yeah sure! When the resort is all inclusive, of course, we won't drink it but bring it back... And no way in my room!!!

because cuba does not bottle in 40oz canadian customs will allow 2 750 mil bottles.

Caution on cigs, check to see if they have a canada free sticker on them. i didn't see and cdn cigs at the duty free in varadero so i brought 200 american and found to my suprize they were not "duty free" i paid 22.10 cuc's for them and was charged $15.00 CDN duty by cdn customs.

live and learn i saw just about every brand of american cigs they are in the duty free at the Varadero airport( go figure), but unless i overlooked them there were no CDN cigs. Lots of cuban crap, but their cigs don't match the quality of their cigars. Incidently just about every major cigar brand also produces cigs, cohiba, romero & julliet, haupman, etc., but they aren't very good.

correct me if i'm wrong but i think you can bring back as many as you want but you'll have to pay duty...

so the correct answer to the question is "as many as you want"..

the correct question would be "how many can i bring back duty free"...
