IMHO, the water at the Varadero Delphinarium is rather murky... if you can get there, the experience at Cienfuegos is much better... (IMHO)

There is another one out at sea where the dolphins are kept in a pen.I don't know much about this one.The other dolphinarium is just off the main road infront of the Iberostar Tainos, close to where the catamarans that take you to Cayo Blanco are situated. The water in the dolphinarium is open to the waterway and has a brakish colour. It is not totally cut off from the open sea so I cannot see how it can be so dirty.

As for the removed posts, there are a few individuals on this forum that disagree with captive dolphins(I tend to agree)and in my opinion hound people too much. Each to their own.

We did the one that is in the middle of the ocean. WE had a blast, as you take a boat there, all the drinks included. When you get there, you are broken in two groups and you each go in for about 1/2 hour. Get to pet them, swim with them, and you can also hold on to their fins for a quick swim.

Once everyone was done, we asked the trainer if we could do extra things. We paid him some $$$ tip money and were able to swim out to about 100 feet from the dock. Lie on your stomach with your legs straight and locked. Two dolphins came from behind, pushed you and lifted you up in the air before retreating so you can simply fall in the water. This was quite amazing...
