Nicest/Newest All-Inclusive Adults Only - Paradisus ?

A group of us are ready to book for mid-October. I've been before a few times to Melia Varadero but it's been a few years.

Would the adults-only Paradisus be the newest for us? I know it used to be a Sandals.

I think there is a newer one, but that includes families.

Any help would be great.

Also, for the tour packages available, in 2003 we purchased the "Departure VIP" pass, and were whisked thru the airport, and escorted to the First Class departure lounge for like $35. Has anyone done that recently ?

thx !!!

The only adults only Paradisus in Varadero is the Princesa Del Mar.

The Royal Service section at the Paradisus Varadero has been recently renovated but the resort is open to families. Princesa del Mar is the way to go. I love kids but it's nice having some quiet time!

Personally I would opt for the Paradisus Rio De Oro, the whole complex is adult only and the RS side is very new.

Di&Mal - thanks ! I hadn't thougth of something other than Varadero.

Do you know what kind of side trips and stuff there is to do? The resort looks fantastic.

Have you done the Royal Service there?

I think I will upgrade to that, but the others won't but can enjoy the perks in our suite.

thx

There are loads of trips you can do, wait till you get there then decide. The place is awesome, we have been 3 times and have booked to go next year as well.We have not done the royal service because we stretch ourselves every year to go to Cuba twice and although we take the money to upgrade we always say no once we are there as the money can be used as a deposit to re booking to return back. If you do go RS I would email them and wait until your there as its cheaper ...well it is for us from the UK anyway. It works out about 1/2 price once there.

If you're not dead set on Varadero and just want the high end Royal Service, I would consider Melia Buenavista as well; the whole resort was set-up as Royal Service and the beaches there are gorgeous. I like the Rio de Oro as well but I've found it tends to be one of the priciest Paradisus/Melia's in Cuba year round.

I would definitely recommend both PRDO and Melia Buenavista. We have been to PRDO 4 times staying in both Royal Service and the main hotel and MB once which is only Royal Service.

MB tends to be very low key in the evenings as is the RS in PRDO but at PRDO you have the option of going to the main hotel for your entertainment. At MB you can use the nearby hotels but they are family hotels.

I will definitely return to both hotels. Difficult decision to be made, one I wish I was making!

Any other questions please ask.

Thanks everyone. I'm travelling with 5 others who have never been to Cuba. I've been talking up the Havana full day tour, the booze cruise, and the expedited departure with first class lounge VIP package.

Are there tours in Holguín that could be equally as impressive ?

thx !

The speedboats is pretty good, where they take you to a remote beach and you get to try all the local prepared fruits (no charge for that) good fun
