It worried me as well, so I did some research and it sounds like all the normal precautions one would take when visiting the Caribbean.

Be wary of street food, especially if the point of sale does not look hygienic.

I doubt this will impact the average tourist. Don't eat street food, don't drink tap water, wash your hands. Cholera is fecal/oral. If you stay away from likely sources of contamination you should be fine.

As eeee says - don't worry. Take usual precautions.

The number of cases is fairly small and the authorities have already taken precautions.

Just heard about this from our travel companions! I'm a little worried too....staying in varadaro but also planned a day trip to Havana.
