So many questions so little time :)

So apologies if these have been asked previously but I'm gonna ask again!

At the Patriacia is it worth upgrading? Seen a few saying yes but would be grateful for details.

Secondly Varadero itself, despite being all inclusive we normally end up out n about try to find the local spots. Can't think how many times we've ended up in bars not speaking the language, they don't speak English having to point a lot but having the most brilliant evening! Can we get that in Varadero, I imagine its safe at night? Any recommendations for the best mojito? Or just general top tips that are a bit of the beaten track

You are going to be perfectly fine in Varadero, Many bars and restaurants in the downtown area however a bit distant from your hotel and will definitely require taxi.

No VISA required, Although Tourist card is required and generally included in your package or sold to you at a minimal charge

If you have booked direct with Thomas Cook your visas/travel card are included in the package and they will send them to you a couple of weeks before you travel. If you have booked a Thomas Cook package with a travel agent they will get them from Thomas Cook and forward them on to you. If you haven't received them a week before you go ring your travel agent, they may send them straight to the airport and you can collect them at the Thomas Cook desk. :) That's what I have been told!
