First day here!

This is out first full day in Curacao. What a great day it has been so far! Went out today with Bounty Adventures for their lunch snorkel, it was great. Staff was very attentive and fun. The food was excellent and of course open bar wasn't bad either. First spot we went to (can't remember the name) was good snorkeling. Saw Blue Tang, Puffers,Yellow Tails ,etc. The second spot was Tugboat. There was an abundance of fish there! They had us feed them bread and that was pretty cool. Large and small fish here and lots of Brain coral.

Back to the hotel (Royal Sea Aquarium.) Love the room. Very spacious and clean. We are lucky enough to have a room that overlooks the Aquarium. We are watching the Dolphin show from our balcony as I type! Heading to the Princess Casino tonight (wish us luck!).

Tomorrow back in search of the elusive seahorse. We have been to several islands in the Caribbean and still cannot spot one. Any ideas while we are here???

Not expert on sea-life. elusive sea horse is that a special one. I have seen beautifull sea horses while diving at Playa Kalki and if I am not mistaken at lagun. But at playa kalki for sure.

Love this resort. If you are looking for a Party type atmosphere-this is not it. We are in building B room 105 and that looks directly over the dolphin and sea lions. We watched the whole show from our balcony even. The staff here is soooo helpful and nice.

Parking is over the bridge, not directly in resort. However, it is just a short walk, no big deal. We have a rental from Just Drive with a GPS. I highly suggest renting from them with the GPS. Roads are very confusing. They picked us up at airport and already had the hotel programmed in the GPS for us. Can't say enough good things about them. I hope you enjoy your trip as much as my sister and niece are enjoying ours!

Royal Sea Aquarium is one of the best hotels on the island. We had a room one year facing the Seaaquarium and stayed on our balcony many hours just watching those beautiful creatures swimming around and "playing" together! Best seat in the house! Enjoy your stay there, we always do.

Morning kelmontg :) Can you give any indication of the weather, as we are flying out tomorrow (for a short stay of just 4 nights) and are a bit concerned about the forecast showing Tstorms for the next week or so.

Many thanks! Glad you are having a lovely time :)

@mjw the weather forecast will be like this for the coming months. Nothing to worry about. This week there were warnings heavy rain, thunderstorms and chance of flooding for almost the whole week. We only had rain till around noon on monday and that was it. We had some cloudy periods but other than that it has been dry, extremely hot, humid and almost no wind. At this moment 92 deg F and sunny. Weather for SPF 50+ today.

Again we are getting to the rainy season and chances are you can get some rain but not in that extent that it will spoil a vacation.

Little late posting on 2nd day but her goes.

Weather is great! No wetsuit needed, very little wind today.

Started the day by going to the floating market. Bought some fresh fruit to have as our snacks and breakfast for the remaining days. It is very tasty.

Then went out in search of Capt Goodlife. It took us about 45 min of drive time to reach our destination.Once we arrived it took another 30 mins of wait time on him. He is definitely on Island Time. It was so worth the wait! The Blue room is amazing! If you stand in back of it, put your head underwater and look out- it is if you are in an aquarium looking out. Spectacular! The he took us to a ship that he had sunk (said it was his Fathers) and we snorkeled all around it. He then had us get back on the boat and dropped us off at a black sand beach. The snorkeling there proved incredible as well. Saw an eel, Blue Tang, Parrot fish etc. He came back for us about an hour later. There were some people nude sunbathing on that beach so be open minded if you go there. Back at dock we enjoyed a great lunch that his wife prepared. She is an amazing cook!

It was 20 per person for the snorkel and then around 15 each for lunch. - Best money spent so far!

* Still in search of the elusive sea horse! I will be on the hunt for him on my Day 3 snorkel. I appreciate all the updates on where others have seen one, -keep the updates coming please!

Will update you all on Day 3 (hopefully with a sea horse spotting!)
