Easter on Curacao

We'll be visiting Curacao at Easter time this year. Any special events or celebrations that go on Easter Sunday or the week leading up to the holiday?

1. Re: Easter on Curacao

Leading up to the Holiday not much. starting the thursday before easter school vacation starts . Schools are closed the week following easter.

Good Friday is quiet day with almost all businesses closed. Saturday is a normal saturday easter sunday lots of people go to church. easter monday you will have a parade (the Seu). It is a parade of the past they did to celebrate the harvest. It is a reasonable big parade, colorfull and with music. Not as hectic and loud as carnaval but roads in the vicinity of the route will be closed.

After easter monday it is business as usual only things there are no schools so beaches tend to be a bit more busy. Some people will also go camping at the beaches during this weekend.
