Crime in the Streets?

Are there any safety issues walking around Williamstad at night?

we have never encountered any problems at night. Are you considering Curacao or Grand Cayman?

We are still looking into both but I am leaning toward Curacao, specifically the Renaissance. The downside is the long flight time to get there. Coming from Boston, I like to leave at least a 2-hour connection time in case of weather delays. On the return trip, do you go through customs/immigration in Curacao or Miami? If Miami, I would think that a 2-hor connection time is needed there as well.

We fly out of Boston or Bradley, you go thru customs and immigration in Miami and 2 hours is usually enough time. We have been to Grand Cayman and Curacao many times each, both islands are so different from each other.

If you haven't booked your flights yet, another option is to fly JetBlue direct to Aruba and then take a hopper to Curacao. DAE is around $112 RT and has several flights a day. INSEL is a little more expensive, but has many options daily. There may be wieght restrictions on the baggage on the hoppers, though. HTH.
