Is a car necessary?

My husband and I will be staying at the renaissance late June- early July. Would you recommend renting a car? It seems like there is so much to do right around where we are staying; however when traveling to both Jamaica and costa rica we rented and enjoyed having a car..... Thoughts?

Renting a car is advised so you can enjoy other attractions on the island

The renaissance hotel is located in town, you have shops restaurants, happy hours at night, beautiful architecture and the cinemas.

I really recommend renting a car and go west to explore the island, Shete boca/national park is a must, visit cas abou beach and porto marie beach.

Visit the Janthiel Area. there you will find shops, beach, and happy hours at night. Janthiel is located on the eastside.

Highly recommended. Like said above explore the west side of the Island. The best beaches are over there.
