Some of the hand made craft items can be found at Tropicraft, the workshop for the blind and some of the vendors at the bayfront and market area. There you will find mats, laundary baskets, picnic baskets, lunch baskets and so on .However most of the craft items are made by the Carib Indians and are resold by some of these vendors. It would be nice to visit the Carib Territory to see the actual work of the hand made craft items. There you will also have a wider selection of these items on display.Other hand craft items you will find there are like frame bottles made from the larouma reed, bird feeders made from coconut shell, maracas, and flower pots made from the tree fern and also small turtles made from the dry coconut shell as well. These people are so skilled with their hands its amazing.

I second the Carib Territory suggestion. Just outside the Kalinago Centre (Kalinago is the real name of the Caribs), on the side of the road, you will see women selling all sorts of handicrafts. If you go into the Centre (which I recommend – great way to learn about this culture), you will also find a good selection of handicrafts there
