Driving to Las Galeras

We land in Santo Domingo airport at around 13:00 and plan to drive to Las Galeras.

The best way is to drive north all the way on route 7 and then take route 5 east when we get to cano abaja?

Is route 7 opened all the way up or we need to take route 23 bypass as Google Map suggests?

Any safe interesting place to stop on the way for food? sightseeing?

You get on the Samana highway only a couple miles from SDQ which takes you between Nagua and Sanchez. Take a right here and go through Sanchez and Samana town. Just be sure not to take any left turns that go to Las Terrenas or go through El Catay. Very improved roads, be safe and enjoy!
