Riu Mambo beach ?

We are thinking of going to the Riu Mambo with our grandchildren aged 5 & 3. Does the beach have sand going into the sea, or is it pebbles ? Would they be o.k. paddling in bare feet ? Also I have read somewhere of the buffet restaurants being of different sittings. How does his work ?

Thanks in advance.

The beach is sand. There is some coral in the water in front of the Merenque and the Bachatta. The water was nice and calm. I was very comfortable in it and I am scared of the waves and currents at other beaches we have been at in PC. It is a bit murky with some natural vegetation floating in it. The water was clearer at the beaches with the big waves.
