Dark Water in Puerto Plata??

This may be a dumb question but is the water in Puerto Plata darker then in Punta Cana?

Thanks

generally, yes. The north coast is the Atlantic ocean the east/south is Caribbean. The Atlantic is generally more rough sea (still fine to swim in) but the sand will 'move' more, which is why the sea doesn't look as clear. For 'picture postcard' Caribbean, blue skies, white beaches, turquoise sea, head to Punta Cana, for 'good value', head north.

Yes! Since the sand is a darker colour, the water is a darker colour, whereas you see the bright aquas and greens at beaches where the sand is white.
