POP Riu's and bottled water?

Can anyone clarify the situation regarding drinking water at the Riu's. Is it sealed bottled water, or is it water purified by the hotels and then bottled? Can you purchase, sealed spring water at this resort, if not how far is it to the nearest town, where we could purchase enough to last us the 2 weeks.

The water they use for food and drinks is "purified", you also get water in your fridge that is sealed and "purified" it tastes like hell. We didn't see anywhere to buy bottled water on the resort. DON'T brush your teeth or drink the tap water.

Hi Ippwrth

The drinking water provided by the hotel in you room fridge is sealed bottled water, amongst coke sprite etc, etc,.

The taste is ok when first opened, but once opened even if kept constantly in the fridge it developed a strange smell. So discard any bottles once opened, they will give you plenty more.

Did not notice any spring water available in the resort, the nearest town is a taxi ride away.

We reported to the sunquest rep.(Cindy) about the exp. dated on the jugs (L) out dated as 14th-28th stay. As they did change the jug to bottles of water.

Sorry to say but this virus "Norovirus" has a lifetime of 2-3 days. Water or not????

Lysol spray everthing, pillows ,your ac inlets duct, use Lysol wipe on any you may touch in your room etc. Do not go into the pool. We have seen the total change in our stay within the two weeks .The resort went super beach mode of everething.

We were there and 75 to 80% of all the people fell to this bug at all three resorts. even at the end of our stay.

Sickness is there. If your able to change islands go for it.

PS : do not believe in Debbie's Review as they may have own thing going on.. My two cents.

Thank you Icescraper

Hard to believe this is still going on! You'd think with all the dissatified customers - they would take note and put positive changes into action. The pool? - the worries me.
