Cruise stop via Carnival Breeze in La Romana, Dominican

What are suggestions for a family of 6 (3 adults, 3 kids: age 15, 11, 4.5) to do in this port? We like the beaches but need something to interest the kids as well. Someone suggested to book directly with Seavis Tours for the 6 or 8 hr tour VIP tour. Has anyone gone with kids and was it worth the money? Any other suggestions greatly appreciated..

Thanks,

Lisa

Lisa,

it all depends what you want to do - land or water?

Some people just get a taxi from La Romana port and come to Bayahibe. Spend some time on the beach, swim, snorkel, try the local food, walk through the village and go back.

You can book a private boat and go for an excursion around our beautiful Caribbean coast, stop at Piscina Natural and come back. You can book a longer (non private) boat excursion Saona Island and back.

There are also fun excursion, a combination of water and land activities with a bit of learning about Dominican fauna and flora.

Many fun things to do listed on Trip Advisor here (under the Activities Tab) tripadvisor.com/Attractions-g663484-Activiti…

Most of those local companies will arrange transport for you too, they're used to catering to cruise ship clients so no worries about getting back to ship on time!

Have fun!

Why don't you do a mix of many things.

A bit of beach, snorkelling, beach, village tour and cigar factory visit?

There are plenty of taxis waiting at the port all the time.

The caves (if you are talking about Cuevas Maravillas - http://tinyurl.com/lk6wemh ) are about 35 - 40 minutes west of the port, Bayahibe village is 15 minutes east. If you want to just visit Padre Nuestro cave and the national park, it is in Bayahibe.

Happy travel

Denise
