Casinos

Hi

Where are the largest Casinos in Punta Cana and what are they like? Do any have the more modern video slots?

Thanks...We'll be staying at the Melia Caribe tropical but I understand their casino is tiny.

Thanks All in advance !!!

I understand from other postings that there is a large casino in front of the Bavaro Princess Resort called Towers Casino. I'm not sure if they have the modern slots you are speaking about. Last year I played them at other resorts and I didn't recognize any of the games. There is no cost to enter the casinos as they know they will get your money once you start playing. I'm staying at the Melia in April and apparently they offer free transportation to the casino.

Hope this helps!

Sabretooth; The slots are semi-modern but most instructions are in Spanish. You can figure it out at a small cost though as you play. If the Towers is a big casino I dread to see a small one. Also look to see what I replied to 'codyhastings' regarding playing in there. A lot of the hotels have casinos & I think outsiders are more than welcome to bring ( and leave) their money. ROTFLMAO. Don't expect to win anything. It boggles my mind how many people think they can win big..if at all in the DR casinos. Your odds are much better saving your gambling money for back home.

All of the Dominican resort casinos that we have been in have been tiny...a few tables and a dozen to 18 or so slot and video poker machines. I won over $900 at the Riu casino in 2004. At the casino at Secrets in January, I hit a $625 jackpot...came out about $400 ahead. I did not win when we were at Secrets in November...didn't play very much.

I will be trying my luck at the Casino at Sunscape The Beach next month. I have seen the Casino...again, it is very small.

I have won at the various casinos I've played many times.

sometimes only a hundred here and there but last year I won 5000US in the casino at the BPSJ. I am not a big gambler I usually like to spend a bit of time each night playing the slots I bring 20US each night to spend at the casino if I win great if I lose oh well.

I suggest that you only bring US money into the casino. If you play with pesos your winnings will be paid in pesos. If you play with US dollars you win US dollars.

Good luck but beware of "prgressive" games they are designed to make you lose BIG.
