Jelly Fish...

I was wondering if anyone knows when jelly fish "season" is in punta cana. i will be there in june and the damn things love me!! I just want to know if i need to stay away from the ocean to keep from getting stung again. I was stung twice in St. lucia. Both of which happened only after i was in the ocean for a few seconds!!!! My husband was in the ocean all day for SEVEN days and NEVER got stung, so i think they must "like" me or maybe all women :)

Not sure if there is actually a "season" for them in the Caribbean. But they will be swept to shore/swimming waters sometimes during strong storms.

yeah Maj Mike, and he never stung somebody.

seriously, we don't have a specific season for 'em, but now during the quiet time of the year with calm sea/wind conditions a couple of hours with stronger winds brings them in to shore, they're up on the surface then after rainfalls, next day they're gone.

in my 13 years working on/in the water here in punta cana i never realized a day "full " of them, got stung once hwile working on the propeller shaft of a boat.

have fun
