Wedding Choices...Moon Place PC or Dreams La Romana?

We were pretty much decided on having our wedding in January at MPPC but looking through our options before putting our deposit down we've come across another option that really has us second guessing.

Looking at Dreams La Romana we have read far better review on the whole, with wonderful reviews of their Weddings...AND...We go go for two weeks for the same price as one week at MPPC.

Sure, we were hoping for a shiny new resort with all kinds of good food, pools and beaches and that is what really had us sold on MPPC...But it looks like it might not be up to snuff even by next January.

It also sounds like Dreams has everything we are looking for (Great food/Beach/pools/casino and a great spot for a wedding) AND we can do two weeks @ Dreams La Romana for LESS than it would cost to do one week at MPPC.

I guess it is a trade off in room quality, or is it? Some of the room reviews are not over the top for MP and some sound great for Dreams.

I get the impression that Dreams has recently been renovated? Can anyone confirm?

Also If anyone who has been to either (especially anyone who has attended a wedding) could put in their two-cents worth, that would be great!

Thanks

: )

Our guess our only concern

I haven't been to either, but am familiar with the DREAMS chain (DREAM's Punta Cana '08 & '09). Great chain.

If you are flying into Punta Cana, I beleive the transfer time to La Romana is around 1.5 hours..ish. (consider flying into La Romana, if not already done that)

There is always DREAMS Punta Cana (45mins from PUJ). Or DREAMS Palm Beach (20 mins from PUJ)

Dreams La Romana is a wonderful resort, the renovations are complete with new luxury suites. Check baltobabes links, she knows as much and more about this resort than just about anyone on the forum

Moon Palace is a brand new resort in PC. I have been to the Palace Resorts in Mexico and will tell you they are top notch. I consider them to be more of a luxury all inclusive. That's why they twice Dreams is. I hope to get the one in PC one day. It's just a bit too rich for our blood right now.
