Majestic Elegance - Elegance Club Question

If you went to the ME and DIDN'T upgrade to the Elegance club... how did you feel at the resort?

Which restaurants / means are restricted?

All general thoughts on upgrading or not ungrading welcome.

I just don't want to get the regular room and when I am there find I can't go places or use facilities etc.

Just debating whether to upgrade or not.

Thanks you!

With a regular room you won't have access to the Club Lounges near the beach, Club Pools or Club section of the beach. You'll only have room service from I believe 7:00 am - 11:00 pm as opposed to Club guests who have 24 hour room service. You won't be able to take advantage of Il Botaccio, the Italian Ala Carte for breakfast and lunch service as will Club guests. Everything else should be available to you as a guest in a regular room.

We're heading back in September but traveling with our daughter so no Elegance Club this time. If it were just my wife and I we'd have booked the Elegance Club again since I liked the little extras that came with it. That said I have no doubts we'll enjoy our non Club stay this time. Elegance is an Excellent resort!

Thank you.

How is the al la carte lunch? Much better than the buffet?

What is in the club rooms by the beach?

I agree with Brugal that the Club upgrade was very nice, and I'd choose it again if I had the option. I didn't stay in the non-Club, so I can't comment on the rooms, but I think the best thing about the Club is the lounges. Breakfast was served there in case you didn't feel like going to the buffet...you could take it out onto the patio or the beach. Morning coffee and croissant on the beach was great. Plus snacks and chilled water, wine, etc. are available all day. The lounges are spacious, cool, and very clean, a nice place to relax and watch tv for a moment if you want a break from the beach or pool. Internet access is available, and they have a small library of books and games to borrow. Club towel service is available there, and there is a staff person there all day, a concierge, I think. Finally, they have private, relatively clean bathrooms. Definitely a repeat experience, IMO.

Thank you for your reply - and sorry for the typos in my first post!

Breakfast on the beach sounds fantastic!

Are the rooms upgraded too?

You are both convincing me into upgrading!

Any difference in drinks? Easier to make meal reservations?

I'm not sure, but I think the rooms are upgraded too. Maybe Brugal can speak to that.

I'm also not sure about the drinks at the bar, but Club rooms come stocked with alcohol, more than the usual beer in the minibar. It's not premium alcohol, but there's rum, scotch, liquer, vodka, and sparkling wine. That was a nice touch (though we didn't actually drink much of it).

Club members are assigned a butler who can make dinner reservations for you.

Just booked the Elegance this afternoon! For late May!

I cannot wait. I ended up booking the regular non club room - TA said I can upgrade if I decide to.

We are just going for 4 nights so not sure it will be worth it ....

We have stayed at the Majestic Colonial so have a good idea of what to expect.

So looking forward to this!
