Is Caribbean Street a good place for no haggle shopping? How far is it from Punta Cana Princess. Can you walk there. If so, how do you get there. Do they sell liquor there and are the liquor prices good.

Hola,

the caribbean street (calle caribena) isa inside the riu resort. Shops are hotel shops and it is unlikely that you can haggel.

From Punta Cana Princess you can walk to the left (facing the ocean) to come to the riu resorts. Or you walk to he left pass thrugh the Bavaro Princess and are in front of Shopping Center Bavaro , Plaza Bavaro and close by Plaza Punta Cana.

Happy shopping

barm, there's an even closer Caribbean Street with a few less shops in between the Iberostar Bavaro and Iberostar Dominicana... no haggle shopping, plus there is a Duty Free there with really good prices, you can load up on your Duty Free stuff and pack it before you get to the airport instead of lugging it around in your carry-on.

Face the ocean, turn left, go past the 30 beach vendors, past the two Iberostars and you are there..... or.... go a little further up the beach to the Caribbean Street between the Rius, can never remember which 2 Rius it's in between though.

cheers, Debbie

We have also answered this a few times, but from the PCP you can walk (face the ocean) to the right for 35 mins, cut up through at the beach shacks or captain cook just after the Palladium complex to the village of el cortecito. there is a grocery store there with good prices on rums, Los Pinos plaza with better prices than the beach vendors on sarongs and paintings, or the Cussie boutique, all with no haggle no hassle pricing. the prices are reasonable and fixed. None of this 4 times the price to end up paying a quarter of the original price.

cutting up through the Bavaro Princess to get to Plaza Bavaro might be a problem. security guards will likely stop you before you get too far. from PCP take a cab about 7 or 8 dollars, or take the tram to the caribe lobby and walk there in about 15 mins (always stay to the left), or cab from there. you can also take the free casino tram that starts at 5 ish according to them, but we found 7ish was more accurate.
