Punta Cana in January 2011

HELP! Trying to decide which all-inclusive to go for a week in January 2011. 4 of us - hubby & I, 2 daughters, age 23 and 21. Looking for relaxing, fun time, but don't want to break the bank! Want water activites, beach-activities, pools, swim-up bar; golf not required. Looking @ United Vacations to combine airfare & hotel. Sort of narrowed it down to about 4 - Ocean Blue, Catalonia Bavaro, Grand Palladium Palace, Iberostar Bavaro but am open to others suggestions! Don't want one that is too "romantic, couples-only" as our daughters will be with us w/out boyfriends. Also, don't want ones that cater to mostly seniors. Sorry so long - but need help! Thanks all :)

You are on the right track with your choices so far.

Ocean has had up and down reviews but there are lots of activities and the girls would prob appreciate the coffee house!

Palladium palace will suit everyone. it is large enough to find tons to do and to see different things not always the same four walls so to speak. There weren't many young people, but the crowd was not too old either. A good mix. It is very well located if ever they want to head off the resort to check out a few watering holes or two of the major public discos in the area. El cortecito is next door for a few extra places to see, places to shop and eat. I will say the Palace section is not really necessary, expecially if it is way more expensive than the PC side. Everyone has access to everything (RS Turquesa is off limits) so staying at the Palace won't give you more services than the Bavaro or PC. PC and Palace sections are central. Palace buffet was classier.

Iberostars rarely disappoint, PCPrincess is adults only and would give the girls access to the livlier Caribe and Tropical Princess so you could have the best of both worlds.
