From what I have read only: Snakes - None poisionous, but they do have constrictors such as Pythons. Insects - Some Tarantulas, but I do not think that there are many other varieties.

I believe there is a synopsis about this on TA under Punta Cana Tourism.

"Bob you forgot the all dangerous time share sharks"

Probably one of the most dangerous two legged creature around only to be rivialed by the two legged female night crawlers.

Oh my - did not realise there were big spiders !!!! I HATE spiders !! Are there many and where do they tend to hide out ??? I am gonna be so nervous now !!! What should you do if you get bitten by one or a black widow ???? I will probably die of shock just seeing one !!! Only 16 sleeps left for me !!

Oh so funny- two legged snakes, suckers and bugs are probably what you could encounter more often than those from the animal kingdom.

I was bitten several times on the lower leg last year by something which I believe was some type of insect at the Dreams Palm Beach Hotel.

It left several scars that I still have now and took several months to calm down and stop seeping etc.

I doubt it was a Mosquito as I've had loads of those and they go in a few days, I have also traveled on several Continents in Tropical Climes and never had anything like it before. I did think of Sand Flies/Fleas but I have also had them and not the same effect.

Eventually the lumps did go down and left nasty red marks and I am using a fade cream to get rid of them.

I'm not trying to scare anyone but you should always remember that outside the hotels there is often miles of untouched pure Jungle with alot of weird creatures. I would in future go to the Doctor if I had such a thing again.

The fact I'd been to India, Africa and other places probably made me a bit blase about the bites but they were quite bad at one stage.

I'd still like to know wtf it was!
